400 more HFC and Beneficial branch closings expected

400 more HFC and Beneficial branch closings expected

An insider sent us a report over the weekend which said 400 more branch closings will take place at HFC and Beneficial Finance in the near future. The information seems to validate what others were saying - that closings continue in cycles. The effort by HSBC is called a realignment, but by any name it seems to come as a surprise to HFC and Beneficial employees.

The first round of closings took place around Thanksgiving 2007. Ironic as it may seem, many employees were in a lurch, not knowing, and without any input or guidance from HSBC Finance or HSBC HSBC USA. Part of the discussion can be seen in the “employment issues” section of our HSBC horror stories blog.
