HSBC Sued again - just a bad week for HSBC worldwide

Nichols Kaster & Anderson sued HSBC again last week for wage and hour violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and California laws. Advocates at Household - HSBC Watch received many reports in the last quarter of 2007 that supported allegations made by employees dismissed during a drawdown at HSBC Finance, HFC, and Beneficial. The suit is no surprise to the advocacy organization. “It has not been a good week for HSBC” said the organization.

“Sued for labor violations, their merchant e-payment system crashed for the third time, under fire from Knight-Vinke, and still losing money was just part of it. A manager in New York was connected with bribery, conspiracy and beatings, while HSBC came under fire in the state of Ohio, and HSBC lost customer data for 370,000 customers” said watchdogs at Household - HSBC Watch. “Then we had the issue of HSBC being paid to create jobs in Scotland where HSBC actually dismissed 160 people instead” said a member of the watchdog organization.

We realize HSBC is a big organization but this is just ridiculous.

  1. […] The number in parenthesis is the total number of votes for the category. It seems like a rating of “totally unprofessional” is in the lead with 60 percent of the votes. We realize this is not the Obama - Clinton - John McCain poll, but HSBC is one of the largest banks in the world. Unfortunately for HSBC, it has been a bad month as customers, merchants, homeowners, attorneys, and their own workers seemed to rise up against abuses, while others just caused embarrassment.
