Unfortunately some seem to think they can do and say whatever they want. One person even had the audacity to ask why a CitiFinancial employee was allowed to comment to HSBC employees relative to one article. Sorry, but that is not the way it works. We don’t mind offering a public forum, but there are rules and they are clearly stated. I realize it is a stress filled time for many people. For security reasons we must adopt a registration policy, at least for now.

We monitor customer trends for possible violations of Regulation Z and other possible illegal actions.
It would appear that this policy has seriously slowed the amount of information entering this site.
I am not sure this is the best idea…requiring employees already concerned about their jobs to give you personal information that would identify them.
Just a thought….but an open forum, at this point may be your and their best bet for getting good information on what to expect in the future.
And it is normal for public forums to get a little dicey…that is where the admin of this site should step in and delete comments if necessary.
Note: Thanks Susan and I agree with you. 3000 visitors and 10,000 page views per day and I would expect some problems. Actually almost everyone has been very nice and I respect that. Unfortunately one or two haven’t responded to current circumstances with dignity, attempting to flood, spam, send hate mail, etc. Even that is just human nature, but other circumstances show that some have crossed the line. We saw it back in 2002 also, when HSBC bought Household. Metris employees came to us when HSBC bought Metris, and we appreciate that. We will review the policy in a few days.
