Pay day will be coming late for thousands of workers this month after computing problems at the world’s third-largest bank, HSBC.
Employees at 1,900 UK companies have been affected and will receive their money on Tuesday rather than Friday.

According to a company spokesman the failure was a serious problem that has now been rectified.

HSBC said a number of other corporate banking services, as well as payroll, had also been compromised.
