HSBC Retail Services Renews Storehouse Furniture

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 21, 2006–HSBC - North America’s retail services business has signed a multi-year agreement to renew its retail credit program with Storehouse Furniture Inc., a leader in well-designed, well-priced contemporary furnishings. Storehouse, recognized as one of the top 100 furniture stores in America, is a Winner of the American Furniture Award from Home Magazine and is a recipient of the ARTS Award as the most outstanding National Furniture Store.

In addition to providing Storehouse customers with a more convenient way to pay for their furniture purchases, the Storehouse credit card offers cardholders additional buying power and customized financing options. Cardholders also receive advanced notice of sales and special in-store events. A subsidiary of The Rowe Companies, Storehouse is based in Atlanta with distribution centers in Atlanta, Houston and Laurel, MD.

“Storehouse has been with HSBC for fifteen years including the Household International days” said members of advocacy group Household - HSBC Watch. “They continue to align their customers with a corporation charged with predatory lending, racketeering, late application of payments and other shady tactics which reflect poorly on Storehouse Firniture” the group said.

One Response to “HSBC Retail Services Renews Storehouse Furniture”

  1. The Storehouse website conveniently stopped publishing press releases in 2005. There is no mention of HSBC on their web site under the ‘credit card’ pages. This, in some way, minimizes the potential for web searches which would turn up racketeering, predatory lending, fraud, Shea v Household, nationwide consumer complaints, and poor ratings for HSBC Finance Corporation credit cards.
