LONDON (Reuters) - Global bank HSBC Holdings said on Tuesday its Chief Operating Officer Alan Jebson will retire in May and that it had hired Simon Robertson, a former Goldman Sachs banker and chairman of Rolls-Royce , as a non-executive director.
HSBC <0005.HK>, the world’s third-largest bank, did not announce a replacement for Jebson, a 28-year HSBC veteran, whose departure is the latest change to the bank’s executive board after it said in November that Chairman John Bond would retire in May to be replaced by Chief Executive Stephen Green.
A spokesman said the bank would make an announcement later in the year about how Jebson’s responsibilities, which include managing HSBC’s global property portfolio and IT systems, would be handled.
