If you are turned down by CitiBank, you may be offered a Sears card through HSBC. Make sure you understand this before signing anything or saying yes, unless you truly understand this process. Some people are so excited to be approved, they have no idea who they are approved through or which finance company they are doing business with. You can't be approved unless you SIGN the agreement. I use HSBC and have never had problems with them. I don't have a Sears card, but use HSBC's Gold Card. HSBC is still one of the banks to approve anyone who applies for credit with Sears.
