HSBC Fraud and Predatory Credit Remains Unsolved

Is this a forged dual-application from Best Buy? A lack of communication within the family? It is, however, a good example of their MarterCard application which claims “$0 to $99 fee” which is usually $99 no matter what. For new merchants, this poses a problem. Will Liz Claiborn and Saks customers appreciate it when money disappears from their bank accounts? Watch for more fraud and more credit scams from HSBC this holiday season.

This report was received on 11-21-2005. It shows how HSBC is unable or unwilling to change former predatory lender Household International, now called HSBC Finance:

“I just looked at my bank account and on 11-18-2005 HSBC RS took WEB Online Paymentt of $74.00 right out of my bank account. I never asked for this card. I have no idea how this happened. I got a statement in the mail. There is a zero balance on the card, but a $99.00 charge to have the card….Is the $74.00 to keep the account? How dare these people go into my bank account and take money. Who are they?”

One Response to “HSBC Fraud and Predatory Credit Remains Unsolved”

  1. I feel I have been cheated by HSBC Retail and tricked by Best Buy into dealing with HSBC. I was told that I could pay for a computer 90 same as cash but a fee was added each month. When I paid cash for the balance of computer it seems I was late and a late fee was added and added and added because I was disputing the late fees they just kept adding and their bungling customer service sent 4 different letters to me on 4 different days each stating something different. I hope never to deal with best buy or hsbc again . i hope both go out of business soon.
