How Private Label Store Cards Work
GE Consumer Finance in the United Kindom had to reply to the Office of Fair Trading in response to store cards and private label credit. On page five of their document, which is located here, GECF explains the history of retail branded credit cards. The entire document is thirty pages long and quite informative. The document is dated 30 April 2004. It is a matter of public record in the U.K.
“We found this document to be quite informative relative to HSBC and HFC in the U.K.” said consumer advocates at Household - HSBC Watch. “It has been quite helpful to our programming staff” said the group.
