We have been receiving calls at my place of employment from a Scott Evans, leaving 866-529-1899 as a number to call him back at. He states (in a recorded message) that since there has been no response to their attempts at settlement they will make a decision for “me”… they never state a name as to who the call is for….. When I called the number I was told to leave a message with my name and my settlement or claim number. We have no idea who this call is from and are not about to call and leave any info. I would think that this is bordering on harrassment

Editor’s note: The number mentioned, 866-529-1899, was backtraced to:
    National Action Financial Service
168 Lawrence Bell Rd. Ste 100
    Buffalo New York , U.S.A.
    Phone Number: 716-650-6240

I had received a call from these people National Action Financial Services 866-529-1899. They told me I had an old credit card from First Consumers National Bank and I had to pay them. I did have a credit card from First Consumers but I had written them a letter to close my account as I had cancer and would not be able to pay incase anything happend to me. I sent the letter, never heard from them untill now. My card limit was $300.00. now I owe over $1,000.00, I don’t even know why. I asked NAFS to send me an itemized and they said they could not. They called and harrassed me so much I gave in and I have to pay $148.12 per month and I even gave them my checking account info to take the money out monthly. I am now starting to wonder what I am paying for. At the time I had wrote the letter to close my account I did not think to call as I had chemo and other things to worry about. I have put a stop payment the payments I have set up with them. I don’t know what to do now since they have threatened me in the past to take me to court. Is there anyway of getting more information on the original creditor since I thinknow they are not in business. I think they have gone under. Please Help!

Some idiot from this number called “Thomas Walker” has threatned stating unless we hear from you today then further action will be taken. I have “0″ intention of ever calling and mater of fact i don’t care what happens to this person. Except what goes around comes around.

If i were to get a Telemarker block that zaps calls saying “We don’t allow outsider’s please enter a number” would this prevent the idiot at 866-529-9832

  5. laurie says:

I have a Thomas Walker, and a Mike Stone call every day at least twice a day.
How can I stop them from calling me?

  6. Sara says:

I also have a “Thomas Walker” call me twice a day leaving incomplete messages in my voicemail. How and why is this happening? How could I get them to stop calling me?

  7. Lana says:

I have Mike Stone calling me every day. How can we get rid of this scammer whomever he is?

  8. Eva says:

Just read through everyone’s note. Now the exactly same thing happens to me. A guy named Mike Stone keeps leaves voice mails. In his message he didn’t say who he is or who he calls. I tried to call back with the number he left 866-5291899. The auto system wants me to leave my name, phone and claim number so I just hang up. Now I have to clean voicemail everyday. Does anyone find some way to stop them?

  9. John says:

Mike is at it again, except now calls at least 2 times a morning before 8am. I don’t care how or would it takes but this dim-wit needs to be put out on the streets and let someone come up to him at least twice a day to say this stupid 1 liner. So, because of his and his company’s stupid actions we are looking into changing the phone number and getting a block function installed. People don’t give in, you just be out on RENT for as I’m concerned I don’t care what this is about and never will.

  10. Bailey says:

the same thomas walker, mike stone (and a woman’s voice was on the message the other day) have called us repeatedly for several weeks now.

the only thing I can think to do is to file complaints with our atty general’s office and to send this company a cease and desist letter.

  11. Charles says:

There must be some way to legally stop this calling. The woman who answers the phone is so rude. It will be a cold day in July when they get my husband to answer their messages, which are threatening.
I would like to know how to get them prosecuted.

  12. Chris says:

An Anthony Salgado from National Action Financial Services has been leaving me automated messages asking me to call 866-529-1899.

  13. Tracy says:

Tony called me this morning and left a terribly rude message saying I better call him or else….they call everyday almost 6 times a day AND on sundays….How do I get rid of them?

  14. Bill says:

Tony must be busy because I’ve been getting messages from him also. Before it was Mike Stone and before that, Thomas Walker. Always the same thing — they’re going to make a decision in my behalf, etc.

I don’t know what they are calling about and I have no intention of calling them back. From what I read, NAFS is a bottom feeder.

  15. Anonymous says:

I was first receiving the same message over and over again by “Thomas Walker” and lately its been someone identifying themselves as “Tony Dispenza”. There really is something fishy about all of this. I have not answered any of these or called back and do not intend to do so. This has been going on for the past few weeks now and I have no idea how they got my number.

  16. Anonymous says:

These guys keep calling my place of work. We keep hanging up because it is against our protocol to respond to automated messages.

  17. Kara says:

I am from Buffalo, so when my cell phone showed an incoming 716 call, i picked up, and it was a recording of “Tony Dispenza” telling me I need to call him back at the 866 number you all seem to know about…

    Very weird.

Does anyone have a Verizon cell phone and knows how to use the “block caller” option? It’d be great if you could tell me how.

  18. Jabroni Killer says:

HA! That idiot, “Tony Dispenza” calls me at least 2 times a day, including on weekends. He sounds like Frank Rizzo, from the Jerky Boys CD’s. He sounds really pissed off and agitated, and never leaves a name for who the call for. H’s been calling for over a month now, and if he doesn’t hear from me by TODAY (Halloween 2006), then “patience will no longer be a virtue”. Don’t call this guy back. He’s a ham ‘n egger.

  19. Bill says:

I blocked the calls! My phone service has a “selective call reject” feature and I figured out how to use it. I haven’t had a call for a week. Guess the autodialer hasn’t figured out what to do with that!

Sorry Tony! Sorry Mike! Sorry Tommy! How’s that for “lack of action”? Go ahead, make that very important decision on my behalf. Bite me.

  20. Maya says:

I suggest you call and TAPE your conversation with them. Tell them to put your number on “don’t call.” My understanding is you don’t have to tell them you’re recording the conversation because they’re a debt collection agency. They seem to hire real low lifes — unstable people with anger management problems. If, as has happened, their employees are abusive, obscene, etc., you’ll have it on tape and can sue. Also, if they call you again, you can sue for harrassment (I think it’s $1,000 a call.) We all need to fight back against these scum.
