Regarding Sherman Acquisition Collections and NAFS
It was reported to us today, via our helpline, that Sherman Acquisition is a collections agent for Best Buy. Therefore, since Best Buy accounts are actually HSBC Accounts, one must conclude that Sherman has a business relationship with HSBC. This division of HSBC is the former Household International. Our helpline caller stated, however, that after paying Sherman as agreed they began receiving calls from 716-650-6240 and 866-529-1899. The new collection agency demanded twice as much as the balance from Sherman Acquisition. In tracing the number this is what we found:
Company: National Action Financial Service
Address:
168 Lawrence Bell Rd. Ste 100
Buffalo New York , U.S.A.
Phone Number: 716-650-6240
The relationship between Household International (HSBC), Sherman, and NAFS is unclear at this time. Please report any information as a comment to this blog posting.

Additional information for NAFS - it is a subsidiary of Sitel Corporation in Omahe, NE. I repeatedly get harrassed at my phone number - not for my debts but for former users of my number. Enough is enough - time to fight back for the good guys.
I offered to help a friend pay his debt placed with NAFS. He gave me their number and I called. I requested PIF letter if I pay it, and they stated since it was not my account, they will not be able to issue it to me. Fair enough! I told them my friend will call to pay his own account. I was getting calls from them for over a month since then. They lied and said my friend put my number when he acquired line of credit (I didn’t even have the same number at the time). Every time I called and tried to talk to manager to stop the calls to my cell, they would put rep on the phone who claimed to be manager. Once my friend paid his debt, this stopped. NOw, his problem is that he can not get PIF letter for over 6 months now. Last time he tried, he was advised that since they had to wait for his payment, he has to wait for PIF. Scandalous!
I just got a very harassing phone call from the 716 number. They have been calling for about 5 months now, and They know that I am not scott or melissa ( who they always ask for). Please Help me. They even harassed my 17 MONTH old daughter when she got to the phone before I did.
they called my house 8 times today asking for the wrong name then actually got the name right……. so hang up the dude calls right back and proceds to cuss me out i hang up again dude calls back screaming at me i called like 50 times and they would not let me speak to anyone they kept hanging up on me………………………
They called my house - not my debt, by the way, but a former spouse’s debt and I have no idea how they got MY number - and made threatening comments on my machine. It was the 716 number.
