GAO FInds Service Members Swindled

In a report to released in early July 2005, the Government Accountability Office found that service members, while trying to better provide for their families, have been swindled by insurance agents, buying coverage they don’t need or paying more than is necessary. “This goes far beyond insurance” said Household - HSBC Watch, a consumer advocacy organization. “We are preparing a document for the GAO and members of the House and Senate relative to HSBC and Household International which will cite real cases filed with our organization over the last five years. Furthermore we shall question the relationship between HSBC and UMUC” said the group.
