IBM Follows HSBC, Moves 14,000 to India
IBM to hire 14,000 in India: Report, Friday, 24 June , 2005, 21:07
New York: US tech giant IBM plans to increase its payroll in India this year by 14,000 workers, even as it cuts 13,000 jobs in Europe and the United States, a labor group said on Friday. IBM joins HSBC and others in moving jobs to India where workers make one-fifth of United States wages. Concerns were raised this week as a British tabloid was able to allegedly purchase financial data in India for approximately US$10 each from a crooked employee.
