Citigroup loses more customer data
Amid hundreds of reports to Household - HSBC Watch concerning incorrect entries from HSBC RS and HSBC NV on credit reports, one of the biggest banks in the world lost personal information on millions of customers. Citigroup says computer tapes containing data on 3.9 million customers was lost by UPS. The bank has already started notifying customers and offering them 90 days of free credit monitoring. Company officials say they have no reason to believe that the information’s been used inappropriately.
