An announcement on the household.com website says the company’s site will be redirected to hsbcusa.com in the near future. A sign that HSBC is still exterminating the predatory lending image of Household International, famous for foreclosures and predatory lending, the change at household.com should be effective in May or June 2005. Analysts at Household - HSBC Watch say the move will further confuse consumers. “Customers who recieve private label store credit cards from Best Buy or one of over 60 other merchants will see the HSBC name, but Household International’s predatory lending model shall live on in infamy” said Household - HSBC Watch. “Perhaps we shall change our name to HSBC Watch. We can redirect too” said the group.
