HSBC Online Payment Horror Story - Beware

HSBC Online Payment Horror Story - Beware

Here is an excerpt from a customer report. If this practice by HSBC (Household International) doesn’t attract the attention of the Justice Department, Office of the Comptroller, FTC and Federal Reserve Board we will be shocked. Here is his horror story:

“”I wanted to have my payments auto debited each month so they would be ontime. I also elected to pay 3 times the minimum payment. When I went to enter in the payment day, the site said I had to enter in 2 days later than the due date. I figured they knew what they were doing, and so I entered in that payment date for 8 months, knowing I would not have to worry about it. When I finally returned and had a chance to go through my statements, I found that they had shown me as being 2 days late for every payment, and no less than $50.00 out of $100.00 each month going to assessment fees. Also, there were no late notices.”"

  1. HSBC should be looked at by the FEDERAL
Goverment!!! They are BLOOD SUCKERS; They will call you even on a Sunday Morning. And I wish that when they did call you could understand the person on the other end of the line. You have these FOREIGN PEOPLE that can’t understand. The FTC better do something about this soon, or more people will be in the same boat that we are. Also, you are right… you can’t get on-line and pay a bill. they KICK YOU OUT!!!!!

  2. I have been dealing with HSBC since November of 2005, and it has been nothing but a head ache from the get go. They would not allow me to pay my bill online, even after i called explaining the situation several times. After calling, they told me that I would only be able to make a payment by phone using my checking account number, which i explained i did not want to do.The next day, i mailed a money order to them. Two to Three weeks later i began recieving phone calls giving me a phone number and extention about my monthly statement. When I called the number back, the extention didn’t even exist!!! When I spoke to another representative, they explained to me that they never recieved a payment for that month, even though I had the reciept in my hand…Ironic, isn’t it? They wouldn’t accept the lower payment by credit card, but they would claim that they never recieved the higher payment…Sounds like a Win/Win situation for them, huh? Oh, and a word to the wise for HSBC, since we are in America, please get employees who ACTUALLY speak english…But I suppose that you would lose money that way also…
