Best Buy worker was ‘cyberstaker’

[World News] CHICAGO, March 18 : A Chicago-area electronics store employee who sent lewd photos and e-mail threats to a woman who had a laptop repaired was sentenced to four years.

Gregory Schaffter worked at a Best Buy store in Schaumburg, Ill.,, northwest of Chicago, when the young woman brought her computer in for repair. She was bombarded with dirty pictures and messages threatening her and her family for five days after she picked up the repaired laptop.

The victim said she lived in constant fear.

Schaffter, 33, blamed alcoholism when he pleaded guilty to two counts of cyberstalking and harassment in January. He was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday, the Chicago Tribune said.

  1. About the fella who sent the e-mail to the girl at best buy…IT WAS A HUGE SCAM!!THEY USED TO DATE!!IT WAS AGREED THAT HE WOULD DO THIS AND SHE WOULD SUE BEST BUY. THEY WOULD THEN SPLIT THE MONEY. JUST A LITTLE FYI FOR EVERYONE OUT THERE.
