One of the biggest drawbacks of financing a vehicle with HSBC Auto Finance is timely release of the title, according to watchdog organization Household – HSBC Watch. One customer recently said “I bought my 2003 Suzuki Intruder motorcycle from Escape motors in September 2003. The account was started with GECF, and later transferred to HSBC April 15, 2004. I paid the remaining balance in full by October 29, 2004 and have yet to receive my title. HSBC claims to have sent it, yet I have not received my title. Today’s date is March 15, 2005. I want my title.”

Same thing happening with me, they cashed my final check on 1/28/05 and it’s 4/6/05 now. I’ve been on the phone with them more than 6 times and each time have been promised the title is on the way.
Most recently, I spoke with a supervisor who promised to overnight the title 2 days ago…guess what, no title yesterday.
They’re either liars or incompetent.
I haven’t paid off my loan yet but experience problems with these people EVERY month when I send in my payment–I send it in at least 7 days before the due date, they deposit the check, yet for the next 2-3 weeks they call every day (including Sundays) at least 3 or 4 times a day (yesterday they set a record of 10 calls in 1 day) claiming they haven’t received my payment. Every month it’s a battle with them and they have the nerve to try to charge me finance charges/late fees even when the payment is sent in way ahead of time. I’m so disgusted with them….I warn everyone away from them
