No Rainchecks at Best Buy
In a possible attempt to downplay recent charges in two states of deceptive advertising, a new commercial seen on Fox News features a puppet, a laptop computer, and internet access. In the fine print at the bottom of the ad it says “Minimum 50 per store, no rain checks, while supplies last.” Consumer watchdog organization Household - HSBC Watch said it is unclear if the consumer is the actual marionette, where Best Buy pulls the strings and the consumer is stuck with financing by former predatory lender Household International. Best Buy’s credit card is a private label card financed by what is now called HSBC Finance Corporation, the new name for the once troubled predatory lender Household International.
Recent reports show Best Buy is in trouble again for poor employee training which resulted in false and misleading statements made to customers by Best Buy employees . Household - HSBC Watch advises consumers to stay away from the Best Buy credit card, and private label financing by HSBC for over 60 other merchants. A list of those merchants can be seen at Store Complaint’s website
