HSBC Bank Refusing to Close on MLK Day, reported by ILCA President Marty Fishgold

“It came to my attention this morning that HSBC Bank USA is planning to open on Monday, January 17, a national holiday that commemorates Martin Luther King, Jr.
When I discovered this information, I was outraged and questioned the employees of the bank, many of whom were also outraged and told me the bank planned to open on five other national holidays, too.”

Consumer activists at Household – HSBC Watch said the move reflects how HSBC is out of touch with Americans. “HSBC subsidiary Household International alienated so many Americans already that HSBC Bank does not need to compound the situation to the point of rebellion.”
