Change of Address Abuse Runs Two Ways

Change of Address Abuse Runs Two Ways

This short report was received by Household -HSBC Watch on 7 January 2005:

“They keep changing my address to a previous address, and I’m not receiving my bill. I’ve called three times to correct the problem and they say it is fixed each time. Is it really that difficult to update an address? ”

This one is important because it is report number 100 relating to this issue over a period of four years. Meanwhile, insiders and former employees sent information to Household - HSBC Watch relating to this practice and supervisory roles and compliance officer’s roles in this duplicity. This practice once again places Household - HSBC - HSBC Finance Corporation in a position as a predatory lender rather than a sub-prime lender.

Household - HSBC Watch is drafting a formal letter to the Association of Attorney’s General and other regulatory agencies regarding the practice.
