The Gottschalks credit card is offered and administered by Household Bank (SB), N.A. (Household). This according to Gottschalks web site. Updated data should reflect HSBC, however it is all Household International anyway.

While the company missed the market’s all-important consensus EPS — in this case, actually, it’s losses per shares — estimate, Gottschalks still looks like a company that is hanging in there.

According to The Motley Fool “Gottschalks’ management isn’t working to make the company into much more than it is: A purposefully run, profitable, financially healthy cash generator with a strong position in a well-defined geographic.”

None the less consumers and investors deserve to know that their credit card is backed by a predatory lender, should such information become helpful to those who shop companies that exhibit full social responsibility.

Gottschalks sign on with Household back when Houeshold International was world famous for evictions and lawsuits.
