A lawyer was arrested after he took his desktop personal computer to a repair technician at a Best Buy store. After seeing digital files with such titles as “Lolita.fk01.jpg” and “teensteensteens.jpg,” the technician suspected child pornography and called police.

Best Buy Co. Inc., the Richfield-based retail giant, recently ran afoul of two state attorneys general over rebate issues. In May 2004, without admitting wrongdoing, the company settled with New Jersey’s attorney general for $133,000 over claims that it failed to honor rebates.

Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), the parent company of predatory lender Household International, is making inroads into the United States. Already a banking giant with locations around the world, HSBC purchased Household International and therefore accepts the responsibility for the once troubled lender.
