I filed my taxes for 11 years with H&R Block and been approved for a RAL except for this year. When I talked to HSBC they said I was denied due to credit criteria, even after they had sent me a paper in the mail that said I was approved before I filed my taxes.
In reading the paper work from HSBC that I signed it did not give them the right to use my credit report to deny my RAL. It said they could use my report to verify my name and address and that was ALL .
Those who file for a RAL should read your paperwork and then SUE them.
