Topic Title: CompUSA and HRS ruined my credit
I bought a laptop computer through a CompUSA associate over the phone. The promotion at the time was 1 year, same as cash, no payments, no interest with a $200 rebate. When I received the computer, all I was supplied with was a packing slip. I have called numerous times for a copy of the receipt, but to no avail.
CUSA now claims that my promotion was only for 6 months. I have been to the front end manager and the store general manager here in Little Rock and they have both sent letters to HRS asking them to correct my account on several occasions, again to no avail.
I have since attempted to contact HRS only to be told by several different representatives that no such documentation is in the account or that it's "in review". Meanwhile, I am being harrassed for "overdue" payments although my one year I was originally promised is not up until next month. They tacked on the interest that they claim "came due" after the 6 month period and state that I need to fax the receipt (which I still have not received) to prove it. I get a different department or fax number every time I call.
It has now affected my credit rating severely and it's not my fault. I get harrassing phone calls from HRS's collection agency every single day for a balance that is not yet owed in full. I am now expected to pay twice the amount I was originally quoted due to these "extra" charges. I also discovered today that to make a payment by phone, there is a $15 charge. This is assinine. I just happened onto your site when I was looking for the HRS website to make a payment (which apparently does not exist). I am so happy to realize that I am not alone, although I would love to see this completely unprofessional scam artist corporation fall to their knees.
Amazing...they don't have to send statements on time, but we're expected to pay even before things come due and have to pay monetarily for their fradulant practices. What can I do?? Where is the justice in all this? It's impossible to take on a corporation like this alone. HELP!!
