Their track record of giving mortgage customers the run-around is well documented and it happened to me too, back in 1998. Nothing changed with HSBC, Household, HFC, or Beneficial. What you describe is correct, and a common practice for these predatory lenders. Whenever a company fails to establish, simplify, and keep good communications with their customers there is something wrong. The Household International influence within HSBC shows they are still a predatory lender. There is a poll in the blog which you can answer - it asks if anything changed at Household since HSBC bought them. Best of luck to you, and thanks for your participation.

Here is a link to the FTC complaint form. Once my refinance is complete I plan on filing a complaint. This re-fi has been painful enough. I dont want to preturb anything or anyone until it is done.

Just look in the menu under "Help Finders", then Regulators. You will see links to everyone else too. From mail fraud to state attorney general - Go for it when the time comes. We are on your side.

I was sold to this company and to make matters worse the company that holds our 2nd mortgage is Beneficial. On that loan (due to be paid off 11/2006) we still owe the same amount that we borrowed six years ago. And yes we have made our payments and are current on our loan. I have contacted an attorney and have an appointment with him next week to see if anything can be done. If not they can have this place. All we are doing is paying rent here anyway. We have been trying to refi for over a year but each time we request a payoff it is 1000's more than the last time and we make MORE than our normal payment.
