Topic Title: Payment returned to me, interest charged

I purchased a computer from Best Buy on the deferred interest plan. I had one payment of $298 left which I sent in before the end of the promotion. The promotion ended 11/18/04 on 11/15/04 my payment was returned to me. I called customer service to tell them what happened and asked if I could charge the last payment to my Visa. I was told I could. I then gave the customer service rep. all my credit card information Name, account number, expiration date etc. The individual I spoke to had a thick east Indian accent and was very difficult to understand. When my Visa bill arrived the charge was not included in my statement.

I immediately called customer service again and was told they had no record of my call. I mailed off the final payment and it was cashed. The next month I received a bill for all the deferred interest.
I have called, written letters, been promised it would be handled, filed disputes (that there is never a record of when I call)written to the President of the HSBC and Best Buy and have just been "blown off". The only correspondance I receive is additional bills and threat letters.
There is a principal involved. I believe the whole ordeal was due a mistake on the part of HSBC and don't feel it is a justified bill.
The addresses where the bills come from are always different.
I hope you can help me with this matter or direct me to where I can go next.

Thank you for helping to protect innocent consumers. I have a great credit rating and want to keep it that way. I cannot in good conscience pay this bogus bill.

Hope to hear back from you soon.
