I sent a final payment check to Best Buy (HSBC Retail Services) for $600.00 to cover a final bill to avoid interest on a "same as cash" plan. It cleared for $600.00, but HSBC only credited me for $420.07.

Subequently, my account was charged a late fee when I did not pay the following month while trying to prove that the original check cleared the account. My account is also now due the interest from the "same as cash" plan.
