They have made it impossible to pay our bill online and on-time. They seem to disappear for up to a month and then conveniently send us a bill with late charges. During the interim we don't get either an e-mail or paper bill.

When we try to contact HRS via telephone, the procedure doesn't allow us to get through to anyone. We have been successfully paying bills by the internet for over a year. We're both college graduates and have worked with computers for years.

This HRS/Costco relationship has all the trappings of internet fraud.

Same problem here. Have been paying online faithfully. Now Best Buy's "Manage Accounts" link just sends you to a page that times out. I deleted cookies, enabled cookies, tried logging in from other links to no avail. Impossible to get to account info or to make a payment online.

If someone figures out how to pay, let us know.

These people must be insane if they think people are going to tolerate this nonsense. Going to search web now to see if there's a lawsuit underway already.

Please look at the top of the page, where everyone will see a menu that connects you directly to regulators and authorities, including state attorney's general. Every link opens in a new window for your convenience, and you can cut, copy and paste. Remember, we also offer you the use of our online spell checker, available here or from the menu.

If you can't pay online, if www.hrsaccount.com doesn't work, can't pay at the store, or just can't pay at all because you don't have a statement or an account number, let the FTC know about it. Let everyone know about it, and the tactics of HSBC, formerly known as predatory lender Household International. The FTC handles complaints about the merchant that got you in the jam with a predatory lender to begin with.

As for late application of payments, be sure to see our document library and read about Shea v Household. Just log in as a guest. The library is here.

So if you have no other choice but calling Household - HSBC on the telephone or trying to make a telephone payment, perhaps you will have something to do while you are on hold for an hour or two. Is it an accident that the telephone wait time is so long when www.hrsaccount.com doesn't work? We don't think so. If you live in a big city you will also have time to go a website for your local television station, contact their consumer affairs reporter, schedule an interview, and you can do it all before someone at HSBC answers the phone.

As a final reminder, telephone calls do not protect your rights. Always follow up with a letter, and always send mail to HSBC with delivery confirmation. It is well worth the extra money. (Send change of address requests that way for sure.)

HRS maybe frauding. I am in China and have been paying my BESTBUY and COMPUSA bills through hrs's website I had trouble in the past and i reset the internet security settings in internet explorer and Iwas able to kinda force my way through there site paying one bill then quickly paying the other..but this month since feb 6th i have not been able to get through. Does anyone smell CLASSACTION these guys are brick and mortar so it's not to hard to find them
