Topic Title: Ignored Address Change Lowered Credit Score

HSBC never updated their records with our new address and, therefore, we went a couple of months without receiving a statement. They reported non-payment to the credit bureau. Showed up on our credit report when we applied for a mortgage. Lowered our credit score. I have written them but received no response. Is there anything further I can do?

Re: Indianapolis resident is one of many hurt by predatory lender

Dear WXIN (Fox 59):

In a report to consumer watchdog organization Household - HSBC Watch an Indianapolis consumer said "HSBC never updated their records with our new address and, therefore, we went a couple of months without receiving a statement. They reported non-payment to the credit bureau. Showed up on our credit report when we applied for a mortgage. Lowered our credit score. I have written them but received no response. This is a typical report received daily by watchdog organization Household - HSBC Watch. For five years the organization has monitored one of the country's most infamous lenders, Household International, now part of HSBC. The organization monitors trends for possible violations of FDIC Regulation Z, including failure to receive monthly statements, and other actions using consumer complaints received nationwide. Nationwide trend analysis allows the group to see activity on a large scale.

Each day Household - HSBC Watch receives almost 2000 visitors from all over the world. They work closely with federal and state regulators and consumers. Their website is www.householdwatch.com
