Find HSBC/RS on my credit report, and I have one account open. I can not find your phone number and I want to close my account.
EDITOR's NOTE: The phone numbers for HSBC RS are 800-365-6538 and 800-557-5871. HSBC-RS is HSBC Retail Services, which is the old predatory lender Household International, aka Household Retail Services. Look at the bottom of our pages to see the list of retail merchants that use HSBC RS.

I had a balance of $789.58 i sent in a check to pay off the full amount and it was taken out of my checking account, then i get a call from hsbc saying i still owe the same amount so i send them a copy of the check. Then i think everything is fine but i got another call saying i owe more now i owe the interest this has continued on for 4 months now and now my balance is $980.

There is an open account on my credit report for HSBC-RS and no phone number to call them. It appears this was reported last year yet I have no bill, no card, To my knowledge I have never done any business with this company. Please help.

When you call them get a good mailing address and follow up by mail. Just calling does not protect your rights. Also, when you mail anything to a predatory lender always use delivery confirmation from the postal service.

I have an old account that is still reporting to the credit agencies. This account was supposedly closed and inactive in 1996. I called 1-800-365-6538, spoke to Carrington, was referred to the Recovery Department at 800-365-0492. Spoke to Sheila, who was very helpful and agreed that the account was inactive and completely purged. She is sending letter for me to forward to Experian stating this info so this can be removed from my report. All in all, a good experience.
We monitor customer trends for possible violations of Regulation Z and other possible illegal actions.
