I just got my credit report, and I see that HSBC NV of Beaverton, Oregon has made a monthly inquiry on me since March 2004 up until Feb 2005, and in sept of 2003, Jan & March of 2004, Orchard Bank, which has the same address as HSBC made an inquiry.
I have never dealt with beneficial or household, and the only dealings I have had with Best Buy was purchasing a computer 5 years ago, for which I paid cash.
Who are these people and why would they inquire monthly, I have not applied for new credit in years, and certainly wouldn't do it on a monthly basis!

You guy's will love this

An account was open through HSBC NV with out my knowledge, one month later it is reported on my cred it report the the card is lost or stolen with a high balance of $71.00. Now 6 months later it is up to almost $800.00. How could they allow a lost or stolen card to be used? Regardless, it is not mine but it is on my credit report. So.... the big questions is have any of you successfully had it removed yet? How many hoops did you have to jump through? I have reported it to all the right people, filed a police report, but what now? Any and all help would be happily received.

This is a very interesting post and it makes us wonder if it was part of the GM Card security problem. Please keep everybody updated. We are looking for some answers to your questions.

I too have a charge on my credit report. I never had an account with HSBC or the company their taken over for. I sent two letters asking for a dispute process and received no response. Does anyone know a lawyer that can represent us all?

I also received my credit report and had charges from HSBC NV, after doing some research I found out it was a fraud account that some one opened with my name and social.

This is the best number to call 1800 395 7555- this is the fraud department. You can also try 1800 395 8141. What u need to do is ask them to send you a copy of the application that the person applied with and also copies of statements and have them close your account and mark it as a Fraud account. From there you need to file a police report and once they identify the account as fraud it should be removed from your credit report. You can even press charges if you can find out whom the person was- I found out because I moved from one address to another and it was the person who move in after me-I was lucky to find the person who did it- it may take some time and investigating but it needs to be done to clear your credit.

The address I have for HSBC NV is;
po box 98706
Las Vegas, NV 89193-8706
800-947-1000

Good Luck!
