This is the complaint we sent to FTC, but their website complaint form won't submit unless everything is completed, and sometimes certain items are not applicable. I believe it should be a standard business practice to offer more than customer service if account reconciliation is necessary and HSBC is a large enough corporation to address and rectify these issues. Call the FTC with your complaint. It is much easier to call. General complaints: 1-877-382-4357

I received a home loan in 03 that was sold to HSBC. I made payments online and HSBC mortgage services said they received the payments before the 30 day mark & they waited to post them & reported lates to the credit bureaus. Even if they see that the payment is made, they wait to process the payment and post it to your account until the next business day. I can see them charging a late payment but not reporting to the credit bureaus because they see that you have your payment in the queue.

I worked very hard to get the situation rectified and HSBC removed the October 04 late payment. Then, the people who are getting my mortgage for me pulled my credit and it showed on the three-bureau "tri merge" report on 10/07/2005 and it showed four more mortgage lates that were incorrectly listed. They recently deleted those four lates, but not only did they put the Oct o4 back on my report, but also they added one more late payment from a different month.

We just received another update from the credit bureaus and it is showing 2 additional late payments from after when the account was paid in full. It is my understanding that this is against the fair credit reporting act. Also, I have spent literally dozens of hours asking customer service to remove the incorrect information, and they won't even let me speak to a person in their credit department. They do not have a complaint resolution department and they won't let me talk to their credit department! They make it impossible to get their mistakes removed from my credit report.

I know there was a class action lawsuit against them before HSBC purchased HFC/Beneficial. It was because their business practices were called into question (i.e. sending out bills second class mail so customers would not receive them on time to get their bills paid on time and other acts of deception). I need this issue rectified immediately and I know that you have the ability to help me because they refuse to do so. I will provide documentation to show that these items have been reported in error and show you the credit reports that have been pulled and the way that they report additional items after an account has been closed.

Please contact me. I desperately need your help.
