Topic Title: HSBC Comp USA, How do you close the acct?

I have been trying to cancel a paid-off revolving charge account for the last two days. I have found that most other accounts can be cancelled simply by making a phone call. But with HSBC, I have gotten the run-around and have never experienced such frustration. I've literally spent hours trying to cancel this account. The Acct # is ##############.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

A simple phone call with a request to close the account was all I had to do. the first customer service rep to answer my call was able to close my account "at the customers request"

The phone number for HSBC listed on my credit report is no longer in service. What number can I call? I can't find it anywhere!
