I am embarrassed to say that I am a former employee of HSBC. I have had six "so called" managers in less than four years, each being more clueless than the previous one. My "manager" forgot to have one of the loan papers of a secured loan signed by the customers at loan closing and
wanted one of the telemarketers (HSBC calls them Account Executives  go to the customer's home to have the paper signed. This was an important document that listed the rates of the arm loan. When I questioned this, he berated and yelled at me. He told me that I had better not go to QAC, or else. I, of course, did call QAC and reported this. However, it was just allowed to go through. This is against company policy and Federal law, otherwise, why have a rescission period?

Well, about a week after this, one day I just got up, put my coat on and said," I can't take this any more. I am out of here." I walked out and emailed his boss, his boss's boss and the head of the HR. The head of HR got back to me about a month later and said there would be an investigation. Well it is over 5 months now and I have not heard a thing, yet. As far as I know the same people are there, probably breaking the law as we speak. At least I can sleep at not, not being part of this hypocritical organization

All former Household employees had to to to a Compliance 2 day meeting last year. Nothing has changed. They preach compliance, but behind closed doors continue their dirty little secret breaches of the law.

I am a former employee of Household and HSBC. I have worked there for almost four years and have had 6 managers during that time, each one more inept than the previous. The last manager tried to get rid of me because he dislikes older employees. I was 59 when I quit and another employee over the age of 50 quit a week before I did. The manager kept blaming me for mistakes that I did not make and was absolutely brutal to the other employee who quit. He blamed me for a mistake on one of the loans, when he did not catch it either. It was not intentional and I am not infallible, but neither is he.

When he was out of town, I discovered a loan had been signed while I was out of the office. The loan arm disclosure was not signed. He wanted an account executive to go to the clients' home and have this disclosure signed. This should have been signed at loan closing, otherwise why have a rescission period? When I questioned this, he started yelling and threatening me not to go to qac. I did and qac said it would be taken care of. Well, the loan was funded and nothing more was said about it. I quit a few days later because I was afraid that he would go ballistic on me and I could no longer work for a company that preaches compliance, then closes their eyes when infractions are reported. Plus, I feel I was discriminated against because of my age.

I contacted that district and general manager and head of human resources for our district regarding my complaints and the reason I resigned. The only person who ever contacted me was the hr manager. He said there would be an investigation. When I emailed him several months later, asking him about the results of the investiation, he said that it was confidential. As far as I know the same manager is there probably breaking the law as I am writing this.
