There is something fishy with a GE loan transferred to HSBC. Please notify me of any other action to be taken against them.

They took over a loan we had and with another lender. The first statement they sent us showed an outstanding balance. I have tried for 4 months to get my account cleaned up with them. I finally filed a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission and when I told a rep with HSBC that, she said "why, because you don't know where you send your payments?"

These people are ridiculous.

Hi,

I have had problems with my account transfered from GE as well. The balance an payments were too high. The account is currently in "dispute" with GE. I will be checking again at the begining of next week. Supposedly, it will be out of dispute by then. I am not the only one. The lady in charge there said 'this is a big problem, its turned into a major project, this has happened to lots of people'. I will get back to this forum when I know more.

Hello,
I too had a loan with GE Capital. My loan was also bought out & taken over by household. I received a letter in the mail in may of 2004 saying to destroy my ge coupon books for my 2 suzuki 4wheelers as they would be sending me statements. I never got a statement until august, and by then, I was in default of my loan. They are currently claiming that I have not paid all year, which is not true. I received another letter letting me know what my current balances are on each loan. they are more than the interest + cost of the 4 wheelers 2 years ago! If I were to go by there figures, I would to never have made a payment on my loans in 2 years! I think I am also going to complain to the fcc. They also called me up and told me they were going to repo them. I told them to go ahead, for that price, they can keep them. THey haven't called or come by yet and it's been 4 months.
