I am sending you this letter in hopes of finding some way to end these harassing phone calls. My wife and I both have separate HSBC accounts for furniture that we bought at Furniture Row Warehouse in Matthews NC. I have been out of work for 4 months now. The phone calls from HSBC started about 3 months ago. To my knowledge, we have not had a payment go 30 days late.

The phone calls start about 4 days past the posted due date. They call my house everyday starting at 8:00am and even after 9:00pm Monday -Friday. Even the day after we make a payment the calls continue for the next payment. Most of the calls seem to come from India because I have a hard time understanding them. The people are rude and stop at nothing to get a phone payment. I have tried working with them and it is useless. I have to just hang up on them when they call.

Now they started calling with private or unknown numbers on the caller ID. This morning they called and I told them to quit harassing me, and they asked me (what’s your definition of harassment)? Then they told me that I have not been making any attempt to pay my bills. They provoke me into yelling every time they call. They told me the phone calls would NOT stop until a payment was made.

I do have a job I am starting this week, and I told them that. They insisted that I give them a date a month ahead of time that they can automatically deduct a payment from my bank account, I just say no! They have already called twice this morning and it is only 11:30am. I just don’t answer anymore. Is this not harassment? Any advice will be helpful. Remember that I have not stopped making my monthly payment, it just has been running about 15 - 20 days late because I lost my job 4 months ago. I have been making EVERY attempt to pay ALL of my bills.
