I applied for a Best Buy card. I remember specifically not wanting the associated Household card. Received a Household card a couple weeks later. Canceled immediately.

Many months went by. I was not watching the statements carefully. They had been charging Debt Cancellation Insurance fees. Called Household customer service just last week. They stated that I must have signed up for the insurance. I requested a copy of the application. Sure enough, there are three signatures on the application on lines for the Best Buy card, the Household card, and the debt insurance. Only one, for the Best Buy card, is my signature. The other two were forged.

We have cancelled the debt insurance and will be calling Household to have all insurance fees refunded. Will also be mailing a complaint to Household, Best Buy's VP Marketing, Customer Service, upper management and board of directors.

Was on cardoffers.com and there are 4 other complaints of mysterious debt insurance fees this year.

This is exactly what they have done to me!!!!! I have called them and was told I must of signed them....the dates of forged also! Now they are charging late fees and interest. I am waiting to hear back from my lawyer to see if there is anything I can do. I refuse to pay this and have no clue how they can get away with it. Is anyone else besides us two getting this? Have you had any of this resolved on your end?

I'm on my way to Best Buy right now to get this settled. I noticed the "debt cancellation" charges on my account, but just let it slide. I decided to look into it today, and I found at least 20 different sites that complain about these charges. I'll be sure to post another reply to share what I found out.

Ok... I went to best buy and got everything sorted out. It turns out it's not really best buys fault. The people I talked to, including the manager, said that the same thing happened to them. When I tried to call household, they transfered me to someone in India... that didn't make me very happy. So when I went to best buy I told them the problem I had with Household, and they took care of EVERYTHING for me. They were very helpful and the whole ordeal took about 5 minutes when they called for me. So if you go to your local best buy, they should take care of everything for you.

Give us an update after your next statement comes please. Good luck.
