Topic Title: False late payments posted

Just found this website, and hope I'm posting correctly.

I received a letter from Household last October, telling me not to pay my November/December payments (since I had been such a great customer). I just looked at my credit report, and they are reporting me late for about 5 months around that time. I called HSBC, and they have no record of sending me a letter.

Any advice?

Your posting is perfect and greatly appreciated. Did you keep the original letter from Household? You may want to look at the "Regulators" drop down menu at the top of this page. Start with the OCC, and, since you received the offer in the mail don't forget a mail fraud report.

This may be another trend. We appreciate you calling this to our attention.
