Topic Title: Excess Interest Refunded

If you received a check from HFC, either as an excess interest refund or a refund for title overcharges, please let us know about it as a reply to this post. We received a report of overages refunded for HFC accounts relative to second mortgages. Any further information is greatly appreciated. At this time we do not know if this relates to Beneficial, but it does relate to Household Finance Corporation dba HFC. These are not live checks and are actual refund checks, often coming years after the account was closed.

Hello, Household Watch!
Last year we received a check from HSBC! It was so small we never did cash it!
The letter stated:
At Beneficial we continually monitor our loans and processes as part of our commitment to our customers. In the course of recent review involving Origination Fee/Discount Points(RE), it was determined that your account is elligible for a refund of $12.13.
What can we do with $12.13? The pain that they caused my family and I, we deserved more than $12.13. I sure their are others that feel the same way.
We monitor customer trends for possible violations of Regulation Z and other possible illegal actions.
