I am also a victum of Best Buy's Retail Services. I have fallen for there Same as Cash/no interest. I researched my payment history with them going back to 1999,and here is what I found.
In 1999-2000 they received my payments on time and in 2-4 days consistantly from mailing.
Starting in 2002, all my payments were again on time and took 2-4 days from mailing, except for the first payment, they claim it took 8 DAYS and I was charged a 29.00 late fee. On the last and final payment they claimed it also took 8 days to receive and then they tried to charge me the finance fee. I disputed this charge.
In 2003 they did it again!! All my payments took 2-4 days to be received except for the last final payment. That payment took 7 days and they again tried to charge me the finance fees. I disputed the charge and asked if this Same as Cash was a scam?
Now in 2005 you think I would wise up but I just can't believe they are such blantant crooks. I send my first payment in and they claim it takes 6 days to receive and hit me with a late fee of 35.00. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? I am very angry that they can get away with this.
