I was asked if Beneficial contacted me after my post. No, they did not. In fact, the only time they contacted me was when the payment was 2 months overdue. Even after sending the Death certificate they didnt write me. I want to thank you for all your help here. I have become alot wiser over all this. I have alot of questions now for that person in Customer Relations at Beneficial. I dont trust him or them. Again, I am going to contact the media about this situation. Also I am still going to look for a lawyer who might be able to help me. I have filed a complaint now with the OCC and the FTC. When I contacted the PA Attorney Generals office, they sent Beneficial a letter but they never got a reply. It just so happened that the day they gave me the 0% interest rate, theh PA Attorney General's office called me to see if I still wanted to pursue the matter. Being I just got off the phone with Beneifical and the 0% thing, I told them NO, I think everything will be fine now. However, after reconsidering, I am going ask them to continue the pursuit. I want paid for past damages. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do, PLEASE feel free to email me at: jjmbrat@comcast.net or post a reply HERE. THANKS!

Today I remembered somone gave me the name of the CEO of Beneficial. I called the wrong number but, was conected after telling her my story. I was transfered to the office of the CEO and talked with his assisant. She typed every word I said. I think she was very concerned. She told me she would have the Director of Customer Relations call me back. This is te same guy I have been talking too. HE thought everything was fine with me and the account. One reason was because they never told me the terms, how much is owed, the length of the loan, or anything else about. I expected they would send me papers. WRONG!
So, for the pastfew days, again I dont think them giving me 0% interest is enough for everything they have put me through for 20 months. I got a call from that person I have been talking with. He told me he got a call from the HOME OFFICE about me. That was because i called them! Hewanted to know the problem so I told him. I wanted to know how many months i have to pay off the loan. He coundlt answer me because he didnt know the balance of the loan. I started thinking he was side stepping the real issue. He told me what the payments were and that there was no set months in order to pay the loan off. Now, this really concerns me because why now? I hav only told part of my horror story. There is so much I havent said yet. Like the time I appiled for the Hardship, when I talked to the Hardship Dept. they told me to send in 1 month of my bank statement. I faxed it. 2 days later I called to check onthe status of the application, they told me what I FAXED was unexceptable. What? She told me I had to send in 2-3 months worth of bank statements. Why was I told only 1? Also everytime i called them they kept tellingme to send in just 1 more document. And 1 more document. And 1 more documet. You see? TORTURE!!! They must do that on purpuse so the person gives up. Well, not me! Anyway, I told this guy I wasnt happy with the account. I told him after all I have been thorough I wanted more. Damages. He hasnt heard the entire story and he is judging on what little I have told him so far. He hasnt got it in his head yet that I went through it for 20 months. I told him I wanted the loan closed, my money returned to me, and $100,00 in damages. He told me that was unreasonable. He said the damages wont do! What a laugh. Then I told him at the VERY LEAST i want the loan removed, my money returned since my mom died, and the lean taken off the property. He told me he wolud tell his bosses what I said and get back to me. He told me he was going to go in "MY" Belhalf to this meeting. What a joke. He works for the company and he told me that straight out when I asked he what HE would do if it was HIS mother and her account. He is suppposd to get back to me. He made me very upset by trying to little this whole situation. There is ALOT more to this story than what I have told so far. Remember, I still have that list of names to publish. The list seems to be growing! You really cant trust anyone that works for Beneficial. I know I cant. They will lie, cheat, misinform you, and try to confuse you. All in an atempt to get their money. This is company is worth Billions of Dollars, and they cant see thier way clear to helpng me solve this issue. Its a shame. But I am NOT going to give up! I am going to keep fighting them over this. They cant get away with dishonoring my mother this way and treating me like an alien from outer space. I feel for everyone who has had dealings with Beneificial. Its a shame there is no one Government Office that can deal directly withyou and Beneficial after all they have already done. I have to compare Beneficial with Enron. But they arent milking the shareholders, they are milking the account holders! The Government needs to wake up and do something the practices of Beneficial.

Well, I dont beleive it. After I talked with the Director of Customer Service, he went to the meeting about my offer and he just called me back. Now, I asked for them to Forgive the loan, give me back all the money I paid in since my mother died, and $100,000 in damages. Well as you can guess they didnt agree with the damages part. And I dont think I will get my money back, but, they DID FORGIVE THE LOAN!!!!!
Yes... after almost 2 years they finally came to their senses. I never gave up hope. They are clearing the lein on the property and sending me all the papers showing the loan closing and lein removal. This gives hope to anyone out there fighting the BIG Companies. You CAN do it if you dont give up! I want to Thank HSBC WatchDog for being there for me. You have helped me alot. I got renewed strength to keep figting for my rights just because of this website. I Love you guys! Thanks again for being there when I thought nobody cared anymore. HSBC WatchDog DOES care! Thank you!

Well its been a week now since I was told by the Director Customer Services they are forgiving the remainder of the loan mt mom took out with them. Now, when I first contacted this guy and he asked me what I wanted I told him I wanted a letter saying they are sorry for way they handled my moms account. He had the letter sent OVERNIGHT and I got it the very next day. However, After talking with him last Friday, he told me I will recieve all the paperwork showing the closed loan and removal of the lien. Im STILL waiting to get that! Last time it was quick, now im not sure what they are doing. If, by Monday I dont get anything from them, I Will call and findout whats going on. If I get lies, excuses, reasons, or stories from them, I go STRAIGHT to the media. I have talked to local reporters and they say I have an interesting story and it should be heard. Thats why I am happy I can POST messages here with people who are dealing with HFC Beneficial as I am. I have gotten strength from this website. HSBC WATCH is the best site to aire your problems, opinions and soulutions. I want to once again THANK HSBC WATCH for all the input I have recieved. I will keep you informed as time goes on. If they mess me up again, I will post here when and where you will be able to see me or read my story in the media. If it be TV, RADIO or PRINT, I will make sure it is seen nationwide and possably worldwide. The world has to know how this company conducts business. Who knows, it might end up being another big scandel like ENRON! I hate corporations.

Well, after 22 months of HFC Beneficial messing with me I finally got a copy of a letter they sent to the PA Dept of Banking. I had complained to them 2 months ago when I thought I was being lied to about the $100.00 payments. Anyway, they sent a letter and attachment to the Dept of Banking stating "After being advised of his financal cicumstances, on may 27, 2005 we reduced the payments from $188.35 to $100.00 and reduced the interest from 13.241% to 0.00%. However on June 17,2005, Beneficial "Charged-Off" the account. On June 30,2005 Beneficial submitted the "Satisfaction Piece" to the Recorder of Deeds to release the property lien." They also sent me a copy of the paper that was sent to the recorder of Deeds. On the bottom it reads: The Undersigned hereby certifies the the debt secured by the above mentioned Mortgage has been PAID or Otherwise DISCHARGED and that upon the recording hereof said Mortgage shall be and is FULLY and FOREVER SATISFIED and DISCHARGED." That means its over. I dont owe HFC Beneficial another penny and they took they lien off my house!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again I want to Thank HSBC - Household Watch for all the info and inspiration this site has given me in my struggle with Beneficial. I was just about to give up when I ran across the HSBC Household Watch website and it made all the difference. :-) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
