Topic Title: Additional help to pay your accounts on line
We received many reports from people saying they have been unable to pay their accounts on line. Some of the reports contained information describing the redirects, time outs, and possible changes in cookie settings that prevented their ability to use the site. After the HSBC acquisition of Household International and the incorporation of the new identity, I began to wonder if this was a result of using the old site book marked in your browser or using a direct link that may not include new access code written in the program.
There is also the possibility that the account payment has been moved to a different entity of HSBC servicing the account. The old link used to access the login page may not recognize the account number. If this is the case, use the link “general account questions” to contact HSBC or register your account. A toll free number for Retail Services online support is 800-298-4240.
To make your payment online, this sequence will use HSBC site “redirects” to access the payment site.
www.hsbc.com starts at the world wide corporate page. There is a drop down menu on the left that leads off with “go local…”. Use this drop down menu, slide it all the way to the bottom of the list. Select USA-Household Int. Selecting this option from the drop down menu will forward you to the link shown in the next paragraph.
http://www.household.com/corp/index.jsp This page consists mainly of three types of credit managed by HSBC Finance (formerly Household). Select the appropriate box for the type of payment you wish to make. Click the second option in each box, “access your account” or “make a payment”.
1. Select “credit cards/access account” you are linked to http://www.household.com/corp/hipf_credit_access_acct.jsp
The process is further refined to the bank issuing the card and type of card.
Retail Services is for their private label credit or store cards. The cards pictured by HSBC are Best Buy and Yamaha, probably the two biggest merchants. That link should connect to the payment center for all store cards serviced by HSBC Retail Services. Making that selection will open a new page for their secure server for your log on information at https://www.hrsaccount.com/hrs/ecare?cmd_Redirect=Entry&org=000
2. Select “loans/access account” to make mortgage and personal loan payments. The link will connect to http://www.household.com/corp/hipf_loans_access_acct.jsp The process is refined to the type of loan, company that originated or manages the loan. Make your selection accordingly to open a new page for secure server log on of your account.
3. Select “auto loan/make a payment for all automobile (car and truck) payments. The selection will go directly to their secure login page https://www.truepay.net/haf/
At this time, you can not use the back button from a secure page and return to the HSBC menu page. If you have difficulty accessing your account, the block titled “General account questions” on the secure page for “retail services” has a contact link for HSBC. The secure site for loans has a “contact” link at the bottom of the page. The login page for auto loans does not have a contact link. Unless the page opens after a failed attempt to log in, you must use the HSBC unsecured site to report problems.
For people making payments on motorcycles, recreational vehicles, jet-skis, snowmobiles, etc, the account is serviced on a revolving (credit card) account by Retail Services.
