Topic Title: Account Protection Plan Scam

Post

I purchased a digital camera at Best Buy in Lexington, Ky. I paid so much down and the rest was but on a Best Buy no interest Credit Card. A few days later I received a letter in the mail from "HSBC" thanking me for choosing their account protection plan.

I did not choose anything. It was done without my approval. I called and after a long time on hold was able to get it canceled. I am going to Best Buy today and complain about this practice. Most people do not realize that this is happening. Something needs to be done about this type of ripoff.

Yeah, the same happened to me, but I had been charged about $13/month a few months before I even noticed the charge on my bill...

I don't know if I'm going to be able to be refunded - but I have NO idea what "debt cancellation" is and I definitely never signed up for it.
