LW in Pennsylvania said: “I have power of attorney over my son. I have been trying to speak to someone about making payments on a loan he has with HFC but no one will listen. HSBC has been very very rude. They have been calling him night and day, seven days a week and refuse to talk to me. Can sombody out there help me, I am becoming desperate. Thank you.”

JK, no location disclosed, said: “I have almost the same situation happening to me right now!! HSBC is the most unorgnized and misleading bank I have ever delt with, the representives were very rude and lazy, they could care less of what was taking place in our phone conversation! One manager placed me on hold for almost an hour and i finally hung up and called the bank back and he had already left and I had to leave a message for another manager (Ms. Winfrey) and she called me back in about 2 hours.

JP in Dubai, UAE, said: “The HSBC ME Tariff shows 100 is chargeable per transfer unless a regular transfer to the same desitination then it’s free but I’m always charged 150. I had at least 5 different explanations from HSBC ME including “tha tariff is wrong”
After probably 7 or 8 tranfers and follow up complaints I was eventually told the extra charge was made by the receiving bank, not HSBC, so I checked with the receiving bank and guess what? The receiving bank did not make a charge.

SS in Hawaii said: “I have been active duty Navy since 1992. I currently have A GM Card. in March of 2009 I received a letter from HSBC stating that my APR will remain 6% as long as I am on “active duty”. I retitre in 2012. With no avail my APR jumped to 16% and now it is 21.99% I called HSBC and they said that I am not on active duty and that active duty is only deployed.”

MA in London, via the UAE said: “Poor service is the least you could describe this bank. On more serious issue, thieving is better way to describe this bank. Just a note, I have been an HSBC customer worldwide for over 21 years. It is the first time in my life I open a bank account in a new country with another bank.
