Using credit cards but it didn’t go very fast so I thought since the only loan I had was my mortgage that a small personal loan would be a help. I didn’t have derogatorys but had always paid cash so the score was low.

DR in Iowa said: “My complaint is against HSBC Mortgage Services, who is our mortgage servicer and the owner of our mortgage loan. Most recently, I contacted HSBC on Friday, March 20, 2009 to ask how to apply for a Making Home Affordable mortgage loan modification and was told, Obama’s plan only applies to loans backed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, and your loan is owned by HSBC. As you know, we already have a modification plan in place here at HSBC. If you’d like, I can connect you to the modification department.? I was then transferred to a worker in that department who gave me instructions on how to apply for a modification. I’ve been playing those same games for almost two years now.

SB in Illinois said: “Interesting enough I just received a call from HSBC telling me my account was submitted to collections. My account is current with HSBC and I have always overpaid my balance. The man on the phone was saying they had not recieved my last payment and somehow they tripled my payment and made some comment about how this could effect my credit score. Then he was really rushing me to make a payment over the phone or Internet. I declined and wait impatiently to see just how screwed up my account with them is going to be now on my next statement if the as***les mail one. Thanks alot HSBC, luckly for us you are on our side. This must be your new bailout plan, dick every card holder because you want a bonus?”
Best Buy is an HSBC merchant. CS in Massachusetts said: “I just left Best Buy in Braintree, MA. I attempted to purchase a Toshiba Laptop (L305-S5919) which was advertised in the March 22-28 ad, for $399.99. The employee told me they were out of stock and when I requested a raincheck, he informed me that Best Buy did not give rainchecks. I told him I did not think that was legal. He then went to an older associate and he came over and told me the same thing. I also told him I did not think it was legal to advertise an item and not give rainchecks (the sign was still on the shelf for this item. He responded that Best Buy does not have to give rainchecks because the ad states that. No where in the ad for this item does it state “no rainchecks”. All it states is “Limit 1 per household”.”
