BD in North Carolina said: “I received an email yesterday, telling me that I was over my credit limit….impossible!…I thought. On my last statement I had a credit line of several thousand. All of a sudden it has been reduced to less than $700.00. I don’t know what percent that is, but I was astounded. CC in California said: “Just noticed the CA- Debt Cancellation fee on my Best Buy payment. This the first I have noticed it and called Best Buy instantly. I said that I did not sign up for this and they gave me a external number. I am going to call tomorrow. I checked all my receipts and purchase paperwork for my computer financing and I see nothing about this. There is nothing in my HSBC credit card booklet either. Has anyone had success getting back the money they paid for these unfair fees?”

Da in California said: “I checked my account online today only to find our that my open line of credit had been dramatically reduced. I have always made my payments on time and paid well above the minimum and have only used 1/3 or less of my open line of credit. There was no notice, letter nor phone call alerting me to this adverse action.”

JC in Texas said: “In October 2008 I became late ( at the time approaching 2 months ) on a Best Buy HSBC account due to financial difficulties and with reliability issues with my bank submitting payments.
