JB in Pennsylvania said: “To make a long story short, I have (2) two accounts with HSBC. My Auto account is working out good, but the credit card account, that another story… I was paying the due amount posted, and was about $100 or so from my credit limit, HSBC took my payment, and charged me a over the limit fee… that next month, I call to dispute the amt, because now I was not only over the limit, but also getting hit with a late fee… I call again at see what the problem was, only to be told, even while this dispute was going on, I would still have to pay the full amount posted, and after they found out what the problem was, they “might” drop some of thne fee’s.

CF in Iowa said: “HSBC has made repeated phone calls, from exactly 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week to collect a debt that we have already made payment arrangements on. My caller ID shows that they have called me 15 times in the past 48 hours! This harassment WILL STOP. I am sending them a written notification per section 805 of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that they are no longer able to contact us except once per month at a time and day of the week I designate. I suggest everyone who has a problem with them also write and contact your state attorney general and the FTC.”

DL in Canada said: “Not in the States so not sure this will be of interest, but have dealt with what was HFC for over ten years and noticed a change for the worse in last year or so. Thank heavens my account is nearly paid off, but I missed one payment and HSBC has been calling almost daily, anytime from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., even after being told I will pay off account (less than $100 at this stage) in two payments first of Nov. and Dec., and when I asked to speak to a manager in the Montreal office, he was “in a meeting” too busy to talk to a customer.
DT in Pensylvania said: “I have a car payment with HSBC. I was late with a payment because of surgery and set up a payment with HSBC. In other words, HSBC was notified that I would be late. On the normal due date HSBC began calling me. They call five times a day or more. HSBC calls seven days a week — yes — even on Sunday. When I explained that HSBC was contacted and everthing was scheduled, HSBC said they would call me every day until a payment was made, regardless of what was scheduled, said, agreed upon, or discussed. TALK ABOUT HARRASSMENT!!! EVERYONE…….DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HSBC OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATES…IF YOU ARE ONE DAY LATE THEY START THE CALLS TO COLLECT!! BEWARE OF HSBC!!!
