TB in Michigan said: “Lost mortgage due to HSBC-BEST BUY credit report. They refuse to correct error. Problem first appeared in 9/08 credit report. Called HSBC, was told they would correct but they never did anything but LIE. Now they indicate my account was placed for collection in 2005! THIS IS 08? They never told me of this or reported to credit bureau in 05. They admitted account has been current (double payments) for over two years. Payments still go to HSBC. Beware - THEY LIE. Asked to talk to supervisor “she’s busy” no call back. It is time to get these guys. I am NOT GIVING UP.”

PS in Illinois said: “Horror story! I missed a payment, my payment was late! Why? Because HSBC is too cheap to write the name of the organization it works for. I applied for credit from Sears. I received a bill from HSBC. Thought it was advertising so I set it aside. Opened the next one. Late fee. Good work. So you earned a few extra dollars, but you lost my business.”
RN in Virginia said: “I wish I had seen your report before I used my debit card on-line to buy from northern tools. I ordered a light on 10/18/2008 the purchase amount was automatically deducted from my acct at that time. On 10/24/2008 my item was shipped. I checked my account and found they had again charged my card for the exact same price. I contacted HSBC, telling them they had double billed me. They said the charge on the 18th was a temporary charge. That was a way to insure they get their money being it was a debit card. So as of now my account is short, and has not been refunded. HSBC has taken double the amount from me. Payment has posted so they got their money. No credit back to my account as of yet? They stole money right out of my account.”
NB IN Washington said: “I have multiple sclerosis and get my disability check on the third of each month. All along I have been told by HSBC “no problem, we will fix it”, but have received late charges every month. I have had my friends call and they both were told the late charges would go away and my date would change. Lies and more lies! I have disputed in writing 5 times, and well over 17 times online. I have been making a monthly payment online. I charged $80.00 dollars and to date have paid over $500.00. There still has been no help from HSBC. I have been on hold over a hour twice, hung up on, had 3 calls from them in one day when I sent the last letter stating I do not owe this. I did not stop making payments to them, but I sent letters.
