Because I wanted to start building my credit back up I said 1 year (12 x @$45) which was at the time manageable. The first payment was ok. The 2nd was ‘on the last day - with postal receipt, and a ‘cashiers check’ from my bank and they hit me with a $39 late charge. Then the phone calls started…

RS in California said: “I received a $3.00 check from HSBC today. It says it’s for “the reimbursement of a credit on your credit card acount xxxxxxxx-xxxx-9508. (I have no such credit card) It further states, “If in the future it is determined that the funds were returned as a result of a processing or other error, your account will be adjusted accordingly. Sounds like a scam to me!”
OJ in Texas said: “I cannot belive that there is no way to sue HSBC for fraud. I have one of the most blatant cases of fraud to deal with thats cost me my credit rating money and my mental peace. I had a 5k credit card through HSBC, was making payments fine, but then I lost my job. I went three payments behind, got a new job, and wanted to double up and get right with HSBC. I spoke to one of the HSBC reps and told them the auto payments I was making had to be taken from a different bank because I had moved.
